Councillors won't rule out a local skydiving facility

26 Feb, 2010 04:23 PM
GOULBURN Mulwaree councillors have not ruled out the possibility of a local skydiving facility, pushing back their decision at their meeting earlier this month.

Councillors deferred the decision on the 59 Airport Road development at their February 16 meeting, following a report from general manager Chris Berry.

“There is some merit in additional and new activities being established at the airport and potentially adds to Goulburn Mulwaree’s economic base,” Mr Berry stated.

“Any such proposal needs to have regard to other users and neighbours.”

There was concern however, for the lack of documentation and consultation over the proposal.

“Other than the application to join the Australian Parachute Federation and an Occupation Certificate for the premises, there is little documentation to support the request,” Mr Berry stated.
