Developer wants Marulan street closure reassessed

25 Aug, 2008 09:17 AM
THE controversy surrounding the closure of George Street, Marulan continues with a developer asking Goulburn Mulwaree Council to review its decision to close the road.

Michael Malouf of RHD Developments has approval to construct a number of family restaurants on George Street.

In a letter to the mayor Cr Paul Stephenson, he said the closure of this street had put his project in jeopardy.

"George Street, Marulan has the potential to become a major service centre for users of the Hume Highway, providing investment and employment to the Marulan district and driving economic growth," Mr Malouf wrote.
