ANNETTE Laing was never worried about travelling the Crookwell to Goulburn road on her regular trip to work.
Her son David described her yesterday as a safe driver who took care in everything she did.
Last Sunday at 6.40am the popular 59-year-old Crookwell woman lost her life when her Silver Holden Astra and a Mitsubishi Magna, driven by a 21-year-old female P-plater, collided 8km east of the town.
She died at the scene.
The 21-year-old Crookwell woman was treated by paramedics before being taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for blood and urine tests and treatment for minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash (see story page 3).
Back in Goulburn, Mrs Laing’s boss Peter Slater was waiting for her to arrive at work. For the past five years she had worked as a cook at Waminda Aged Care Facility, a role she had come to love for its contact with older people.
