Motorists in Goulburn Mulwaree are asked to slow down in the wet, following heavy localised rain.
Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Geoff Kettle said while the rain had been steady over the past couple of days, there was very little chance of flooding occurring.
“At this stage, we don’t expect the Wollondilly River to flood, as the water level at Rossi Weir is down by six or seven feet,” Cr Kettle said.
“We have spoken to the local SES team, and they have advised us that showers will be clearing on Saturday, and that as of 9am Friday, there were no severe weather warnings current for Goulburn.
“However, our biggest concern is for motorists over the weekend, and we urge all drivers to show care when driving through any puddles or where water is sheeting across the road.
“There are a number of roads which are subject to inundation especially in the Eastgrove area, including Park Road and the Blackshaw Road underpass. There are automatic boomgates at the Blackshaw Rd underpass, so we ask motorists who may be driving through that area to be aware of this.
