Goulburn on best behaviour on New Year's Eve

POLICE reported a relatively quiet night and generally good behaviour in Goulburn on New Year’s Eve.

Officers from Cootamundra Local Area Command were brought in to swell ranks, which had been depleted by deployment of some Goulburn police to Wollongong Local Area Command.

Police said on Friday they inspected plenty of licensed premises but did not detect any breaches. But out on the streets, they warned several juveniles who were allegedly walking around the CBD’s alcohol free zone with alcohol.

At 10.30pm officers spoke to a 17-year-old Goulburn male on the corner of Auburn and Goldsmith St who was reportedly holding a half-consumed bottle of beer...
