Greens MP Lee Rhiannon comes to town

16 Nov, 2009 10:44 AM
GOULBURN went green over the weekend as Greens MP and NSW Senate candidate Lee Rhiannon dropped in to visit local members and supporters in the lead up to next year’s Federal Election.

Ms Rhiannon spoke to the Post on Friday, saying how important these “briefing” events are.

“It’s an opportunity to catch up with local members and supporters on key issues,” Ms Rhiannon said.

“It’s valuable to hear first hand about the issues.”

Ms Rhiannon also intended to catch up with local environmentalist Mark Selmes over the issues surrounding Mt Rae Forest.

“I have the portfolio for the South East forests, where logging is a major concern,” she said.
