Groundhog Day for council meeting?

16 Nov, 2009 10:42 AM
THE controversial Highlands Source Project (HSP) has again been questioned, with Goulburn Mulwaree councillors set to receive a motion to request another feasibility study.

Cr Neil Penning will put a motion to the council at tomorrow night’s ordinary meeting, asking them to seek expressions of interest to conduct a rigorous feasibility study into the necessity for the pipeline following the removal of its emergency status after rain in mid 2007.

“There is a big difference between a pipeline that you need and a pipeline that you want,” Cr Penning stated in the motion.

“It’s like the difference between something you really need for survival and something you just want for comfort. And this has become apparent right now, in the preliminary design process, with the Highlands pipeline.”
