Local teen killed

A LOCAL teenager has been killed in a single-vehicle crash at Crookwell over the weekend.

Police stated that the 16-year-old boy was travelling as a passenger when the vehicle ran off Kialla Road and rolled at about 6.10pm on Friday.

He received significant injuries and died at the scene. The 17-year-old male driver, a provisional licence holder, received minor injuries.

Local Police and Forensic Services Group are examining the cause of the crash. Investigating officers are seeking public assistance as they continue their inquiries. Anyone who witnessed the crash or the circumstances leading up to it are urged to contact Goulburn Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. A report will be prepared by police for the information of the NSW Coroner.

Police had not released the name of the victim by time of print.
