Puppy left for dead in Ellesmere Street

01 Feb, 2010 08:56 AM
IN a callous act of animal dumping, a Staffordshire puppy was left for dead near a garbage bin in Ellesmere Street last week.

Luckily, council rangers rescued the little mite after they received a call from a concerned resident who saw the alleged dumping take place.

The RSPCA is appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the identification of the people who allegedly dumped the puppy at about 8.30am on Thursday in the laneway near a skip bin at the back of The Reject Shop.

RSPCA regional inspector Jean Sprague said a witness saw three young men and a young woman getting out of a white car with green P plates with the puppy.
