THE Reverend Stuart Robinson has been elected as the new Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

The Reverend Stuart Robinson is presently National Mission Facilitator for the Anglican Church of Australia and Rector of Chatswood in the diocese of Sydney.

The announcement was made yesterday by the Very Reverend Phillip Saunders, President of the Electoral Synod and Dean of St Saviour's Cathedral.

"Rev'd Stuart Robinson will become the 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn," he said.

"It is the role of the Bishop to provide leadership and vision for Anglicans within the diocese and to represent the church to the wider community."

The Reverend Stuart Robinson brings to the position a wealth of experience in the national and international church as well as in parish ministry and in developing new and pioneering ministries.

He is also committed to the significant role of the diocese in the National Church and the wider national community.
