Jack Neville Johnson, 20, now of Braidwood, but living in Goulburn when arrested last October, had an eight-month jail term suspended on strict conditions when he appeared before Magistrate Geraldine Beattie on Wednesday.
He had pleaded guilty to supplying, or knowingly taking part in the supply of, 10 methamphetamine pills to a women in the Goulburn Workers Club.
In police facts before the court, Johnson allegedly was paid $300 for the transaction. Magistrate Beattie said Johnson, an apprentice chef remanded on bail after earlier court hearings, had dealt in drugs “purely for profit.”
She warned Johnson to stay out of trouble, and not associate with a number of other Goulburn people arrested and sentenced as a result of Operation Oppy. “Is there any hope for you?” she asked.
“I’m not going to sentence you to Goulburn jail today. So, keep out of trouble. If you don’t, you will be back in the dock behind you, when I sentence you to jail.”
