Taralga's the toast of Europe

21 Sep, 2007 11:14 AM
THE Miskelly family of Taralga is toasting success after one of their Cushendall wines scored silver in an international wine show in Europe.

The winery's 2006 Pinot Noir this month won silver in the Austrian Wine Challenge in Vienna, a competition which attracted more than 6000 wines from 31 nations.

"It's all a bit hard to believe," said Paul Miskelly, who is pictured with his wife Glenda and a bottle of their award winning 2006 Pinot Noir.

"We had exhibited our 2006 Chenin Blanc in the NSW Small Winemakers Show in Forbes where we won a bronze medal in the dry white category and two weeks later we were advised of the Austrian award."
