Treachery at the Lieder Theatre

THERE’LL be treachery afoot when the Lieder Theatre stage a production Frederick Knott’s classic suspense thriller Wait Until Dark.

Made famous by the 1967 film of the same name, which stared Audrey Hepburn, the play tells the story of a blind lady who is targeted by three smooth criminals on the trail of the biggest score of their careers.

When a flight from Amsterdam lands at London airport, Lisa asks a commercial photographer by the name of Sam Henderson to keep a toy doll for her. A seemingly simple task, however when the woman disappears Sam takes the doll home with him to his London flat.

Not long afterward two shady hoodlums arrive at Sam’s empty flat to keep what was supposed to be an appointment with Lisa, where they are greeted instead by the malevolent criminal mastermind Roat.

Roat, who is in disguise, informs the two that Lisa won’t be coming. He has murdered her...
