Brumbies come to Goulburn

19 Feb, 2010 10:11 AM
GOULBURN rugby will see the biggest game since the opening of Poidevin Oval tomorrow when the Brumbies Runners take on Randwick.

With the opening of the ground in 1996, ex-Wallabies graced the turf whereas tomorrow’s match at the same venue will showcase players who are striving towards the hallowed jersey.

Goulburn Rugby Union Club president Matt Klem said the fixture was a coup for Goulburn and that the two sides would play a game well worth watching.

“With the recent rain the oval is looking as good as it has since the drought hit, it’s a good time to have the sides here,” Klem said.

Both sides will bring young and exuberant sides to town, with the Runners oldest player a mere 23 years of age.
