FUNDS secured by Goulburn Pony Club from the Ray Harvey sports grant were put to good use recently with a two-day riding clinic.
Sarah Venamore, from the Pony Club Association, came down from Armidale to provide valuable instruction to Goulburn's riders.
A good number, 20 in all, attended the weekend on February 21-22 with riders participating in two hours of instruction each day, with an hour lesson in the morning and afternoon.
Goulburn Pony Club secretary Jackie Waugh was pleased with the weekend overall.
"The idea with the two-day clinic was to give the children going to the Canberra and Sydney Royal Shows some extra training and preparation ahead of competing," she said.
"It was very good. You could see the difference in the kids from the beginning to the end of the clinic."
The club is also appreciative of the assistance offered by the Ray Harvey sports grant from council.
