Motor Racing: Festival of Sporting Cars

29 Oct, 2009 10:22 AM
MORE than 150 cars will descend on Wakefield Park this weekend with the Festival of Sporting Cars holding events on both Saturday and Sunday.

The festival travels around the country during the year, bringing late model cars back to the fore and pitting club racers against each other.

Wakefield Park has been involved with the festival before, which now has events at Bathurst every year, and the organisers are excited about bringing the festival back to Goulburn.

Vice president of the festival Dave Nichols said having the event back in Goulburn for the first time since 2007 would be a big thrill.

“We’re really looking forward to the weekend, we haven’t been at Wakefield for the past two years but it will be good to get back there,” Nichols said.
