Tennis: Roberts pair come up trumps

13 Nov, 2009 10:07 AM
SATURDAY tennis was played in near perfect weather for sport and some close matches resulted.

Glen McDermott and Jason Granger (sub) defeated Glenn Clack and Michelle Plumb two sets, 19 games to one set, 16 games in a really great game. Glen McDermott was well supported by Jason Granger playing his first game in senior competition as he returned served very well and hit many nice forehand drives.

For the losers both Michelle and Glenn had moments of brilliance hitting some great winners.

Darryl and Brad Roberts won over David Plumb and Cameron McCulloch three sets, 18 games to 10 games. In a match that produced lots of good tennis and was much closer than the scores would indicate, Darryl and Brad played a very consistent game.
