25 Aug, 2008 09:34 AM
BITTERLY cold conditions greeted players in the Saturday competition last week making play difficult.

Leading team Allan and Mark McLennan had a hard battle with David Plumb and James Jarvis with Allan and Mark getting home 2 sets 17 games to 1 set 15 games. The opening set went to a tiebreaker with all players trying hard for the break through. David and James fought back for a 6-4 victory in the second set, with the last set going to Allan and Mark 6-3.

John Lyttle and Marian McDonald are coming a close second and had a close win over Phil Leighton-Daly and Kath Walcott 2 sets 14 games to 1 set 16 games.
