The parade, with the community’s help, will take spectators through the decades of Goulburn’s history and into its future.
“We urgently consider how you, or the group you belong to, can get involved,” 150th Birthday spokesperson Jodie Tremble said.
“No matter whether you are from a school, church, sporting club, community group, service organisation, business, government, or are an individual community member with a great idea, we are keen to hear from you.
“Your entry may include walkers, marchers, dancers, a float or display – the options are endless. It will be a great way to celebrate and help create awareness of your organisation or group.
Commentators will tell the story of your entry as the parade takes place.”
There is a timeline of decades to represent and if you would like to discuss where you would take your place in history, please contact Ms Tremble at Goulburn Mulwaree Council on 4823 4550 or Gil and Laraine Whitehouse on 9824 6787.
“It will be a spectacular event showcasing the evolution of our community. We are asking individuals, groups and organisations of all types to either dress up or design a float to represent the period they best fit into,” Ms Tremble said.
“But of course, we also want to celebrate modern day Goulburn so we are open to suggestions as to how you think your group or organisation best fits in.
“All that matters is that the parade tells the story of Goulburn, and we celebrate our Birthday in style and have fun.”
