Nova host adds baby seat to drive show

Radio host Tim Blackwell, of Nova's national drive show Meshel, Tim & Marty, has welcomed his first child into the world.

His wife Monique gave birth to daughter Bo Elizabeth Blackwell at 2.25am on January 10.

"Mon was a trooper," Blackwell said.

"12 hour labour and drug free! In your face Miranda Kerr! Bo is already so beautiful and I've let her know that it can be confusing being a Hawthorn fan that lives in Carlton, but she'll get used to it!"

A Hawks outfit, hand-knitted by Bo's grandma, already awaits the newborn; Monique posted a photo on Instagram of the baby-sized AFL gear during September and said "Well it might not be born in a premiership year, but baby Blackwell might get to debut this number at next year's premiership..."

Blackwell has a week in which to relish his newfound fatherhood before returning to air on January 14, before the 2013 radio survey period begins again on January 20.

The trio's show won a 1.3 per cent jump in the final radio survey of 2012, which made them the second most listened to drive show in Perth.

The jump to second place broke what had been a two-horse race between Mix 94.5's The Big Couch and the Today Network's Hamish & Andy and Fifi & Jules combination.
