Hagan joins the country’s best rowers at the National Championships, the first stepping stone en route the Games of the 31st Olympiad.
Hagan will again occupy seat six in the women’s eight squad, an outfit featuring close friend Hannah Vermeersch.
The competition, to be conducted at the Sydney Olympic Regatta centre between tomorrow and January 24, is set to be well contested, Rowing Australia High Performance Director, Chris O’Brien, says.
“The quality of athletes we have with those coming back from the Olympic team and those coming up from last year’s top performing U23 team is high calibre and will provide us with good strength and depth as we go into the new Olympiad,” he said.
“These camps have the aim to set up the performance platform for the new Olympiad and we will utilise the next two weeks to explore crew combinations in the lead up to our selection trials in February, which will determine the team for the upcoming Sydney International Rowing Regatta and the World Rowing Cup in March.”
