A driver involved in a police pursuit along the Federal Highway on Saturday evaded police after his vehicle was stopped with road spikes.

Police are appealing for public assistance following the pursuit that ended near Bywong, about 20km north of Canberra today.
Just before 6.30pm on Saturday March 29, officers attached to Goulburn Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Honda Sedan travelling south on the Federal Highway, Yarra.
When it failed to stop, police pursued the car along the highway to an intersection at Macs Reef Road, Bywong, where road spikes were deployed.
The car, driven by a man who was the sole occupant, crossed an oncoming lane and left the road, hitting a tree.
The man fled the scene and was last seen running across a number of rural properties in the area.
His car caught fire and was destroyed.
Officers attached to Goulburn and Monaro Local Area Commands, ACT police, together with the Dog Unit, commenced a search; however were unable to locate him.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact them via Crime Stoppers.
