THE maze of one-way streets, hook turns and dead ends in the CBD of Melbourne posed an issue for the Bluff to Bondi runners.
However, Tim Blair has a secret weapon, which comes in the shape of a former national cycling champion.
Mr Blair's niece is none other than former Acacia Hills cyclist Belinda Goss, who now resides in Melbourne.
Goss retired from cycling in 2012 and has since been doing some coaching and consulting.
Mr Blair and Goss have been in discussion about the Bluff to Bondi challenge and how best they can navigate the city.
"Tim and I have had many discussions about the run they are doing.
"Their first big issue was getting out of Melbourne and that's where I can help, having lived in Melbourne for a few years now I know my way around pretty well," Goss said.
Goss said she recently completed a charity ride from Melbourne to Sydney and couldn't believe what her uncle was about to embark on.
"Riding from Melbourne to Sydney was big enough, but to think that Tim is going to run that distance and the distances he is doing in one day is incredible."
Goss will lead Mr Blair and running partner Shane Taylor through Melbourne and ride with them for about the first three hours.
