GOULBURN held their position second on the ladder but had a hard battle to defeat St Pats 2-0 in a game dominated by both teams defences.

The first half started with Goulburn attacking strongly and creating opportunities, leading to a number of penalty corners, but St Pats defended well.
Midway through the first half Goulburn scored two quick field goals to Glenn Turner and Kurt Devlin.
Gaining more possession Goulburn looked like they would soon score again but St Pats defence held tight.
Half time Goulburn led 2-0.
In the second half both teams had little opportunities to score with both defences working hard. Goulburn missed a few chances to score early and St Pats put in a late surge to miss two chances to score.
Goulburn held on to win 2-0. Best for Goulburn were Todd Devlin, Kurt Devlin and Aaron Kershaw.
Best for St Pats were Brendan Baxter, Malcolm Beer and Pat Kerin. Goulburn return home this Saturday against Tuggeranong at 3.30pm.
