Goulburn Highway Patrol have been kept busy on local roads by speeding drivers.
At 10.50am on Saturday morning (August 2), a grey VW Golf was being driven south on the Hume Highway, Goulburn.
Highway Patrol checked the speed of the vehicle at 165km/h. The 30 year old male driver from the ACT was stopped.
The man received a $2252 infringement notice for Exceed Speed Limit - Over 45km/h. His licence was suspended on the spot for six months. The infringement notice also carries 6 demerit points.
Sergeant Cranston from the Goulburn Highway Patrol said, "I'm astounded by the poor choices that have been made that put every other motorist in danger."
Earlier on Saturday morning, a brown Honda CRV was being driven south on the Federal Hwy, Collector, toward the ACT.
At 8am Highway Patrol checked the speed of the vehicle at 164km/h. The 30 year old male driver from Sydney was stopped.
The man received a $2252 infringement notice for Exceed Speed Limit - Over 45km/h. His licence was suspended on the spot for six months and his number plates seized for three months. The infringement notice also carries 6 demerit points.
On Friday morning a 20 year old Goulburn woman was clocked by a Goulburn Highway Patrol car driving at 89km/h in a 40km school zone on Reynolds St in North Goulburn.
She was issued with a court attendance notice to attend Goulburn Local Court at a later date, and was also suspended from driving and her licence confiscated.
