The result means the Strikers will claim second spot on the ACT division three ladder, with Cooma finishing with top honours.
However the Strikers were almost knocked off the perch as the Monaro Panthers aimed to make an impact a week before the finals.
They forced the Strikers to defend most of the second half and had a goal disallowed that would have firmly swung the momentum away from the Strikers.
Both teams had gone into the break a goal-a-piece. The level playing field then saw both sides create plenty of opportunity to break the stale mate. This included an over ruled goal from Monaro due to a contested off-side ruling. The decision sparked the away side for relentless pressure deep into the match.
Luckily for Strikers coach Robin Caulfield, the Strikers held on to share the spoils.
“No it wasn’t what we wanted. But you’ve got to view it on the game that we played today and it was a draw which was a fair result,” Caulfield said after the match.
Captain David Albrighton left the field with a pulled hamstring early in the first half. It is unsure if he will be back in time for the finals.
A Robin Caulfield led reserve grade side wasn’t enough for the side to end the season with their second win. The side went down to Narrabundah 7-0.
Caulfield, in his second cameo of the season for the side, battled on until a groin injury forced the 55- year-old to retire early.
“I wish I could I have gone on, but the body pulled up on me. My head was there but my body wasn’t in the end.”
