Both teams entered into separate divisions to compete.
To the coaches’ delight, both teams played hard in the cold as well as the rain to go through the pool stages undefeated. With the coaches and parents in full support, both teams went on to win there grand finals in what was a fantastic day for the kids but also for Goulburn rugby league.
Mustang coaches Zeb Alaia and Rodney Weatherstone were in mutual agreement that the “kids showed a lot of heart and desire to win.”
Mr Alaia stated: “Some of the opposition supporters were very vocal but our team were amazing at drowning them out on the score board. At such a young age, both Mustangs and Colts showed maturity beyond there years which we are all very proud of.”
Colts Coaches Scott Swan and Matt Cowling were in high praise of there team saying “They defended great all day, that’s what won it for us, very proud of the boys.”
Both teams would like to thank Rod Latham and the JRL stockmen committee as well as major sponsors John and Belinda Crooks of RJ Sydney Craig for a fantastic year for Goulburn mini footy. We hope to do a repeat next year.
