Not only is he averaging over one goal a game, but he took out the competition leading goal scorer despite missing five matches.
He has become a vital part in the way the Strikers work and tomorrow there will be expectation for him to continue his fantastic form.
But pressure is what Willis strives on. And for the guy who is expected to finish the Strikers’ chances, he fairly humble with the way he goes about it.
“I’ll be happy to give away all those goals if we win on the weekend,” the Striker said.
“I’m a finisher that’s my job, but as you know it’s an 11 man game so I don’t score it’s because they’re not setting me up. It’s a credit to my team.”
Willis will face up against the Pumas a marked man.
He explains in nearly every game this season, he’s been tagged by the opposition.
“I don’t think there has been a game where I haven’t been tagged to be honest.
A lot of teams have single handedly tried to nullify me by putting a guy on me and saying watch him that’s what you have to do.
“Luckily my speed gets me into a lot of good positions so there are not many people who can keep up.”
Willis says the way the UC backline is structured means he may get off lightly tomorrow.
But if he’s been tagged all season maybe captain David Albrighton may want him as a marked man.
“Not only is Brody the top goal scorer, but he’s one of the quickest guys in the league and that will certainly help us against the UC. He will certainly play a big part in Saturday’s game,” Albrighton said.
