About 11:30pm on Sunday the 12th October 2014, a tall average built male wearing a white T-shirt, yellow shorts and a cap entered the bottle shop attached to the Lion Rampant upon Victoria Street, Mittagong. The manager saw the male offender run from the store with a bottle in his hand. The offender was seen to run in an easterly direction towards the main street and then the direction of the railway station. The offender was also seen with a female in a bright pink top upon Railway Pde. Police attended a short time later and a patrol of the surrounding area conducted without sighting the offender. Police will obtain CCTV footage from the business and conduct further enquiries regarding the matter. Anyone else who may have witnessed the incident or who can identify the male is asked to contact Bowral Police with information.

About 4.10am on Sunday 12th of October 2014 a witness has observed two males run from the shop front in the vicinity of a tattoo parlour in Bong Bong Street, Bowral and noticed a small glow of red from the area. Both males were described as wearing dark clothing with hooded tops. Both males were seen to run south along Bong Bong Street and then enter an older model Holden ute, yellow in colour which drove off at speed with no lights on. Police arrived on scene shortly after the incident was reported. Police noted the strong smell of petrol and the distinct markings on the glass where petrol had been thrown up the glass panels of the shop front in two places either side of the main entry door. The crime scene was photographed and CCTV footage will be obtained from the area. Police are continuing investigations and anyone with information is asked to contact Bowral Police or Crime Stoppers with information.

About 5.48am on Sunday the 12th of October 2014 two victims were sitting in the waiting room at Moss Vale Railway Station waiting for the arrival on northbound State Rail train to Bowral. The victims were in possession of various pieces a luggage. The victims entered the train with the luggage. A local 44 year old male also entered the train. Prior to the train departing the male offender has exited the train with some of the luggage belonging to the victims. The matter was reported to Police and CCTV footage viewed which identified the offender in possession of the property as he left the train. Further enquiries were then made to locate the offending male. Some property was located at a residence in Moss Vale shortly after and recovered by Police. The male offender is to be arrested and charged with stealing.

On Sunday the 12th October 2014 Highway Patrol Police conducted speed enforcements within the Yass area. A number of drivers were detected speeding and issued infringements for the offences. Drivers are reminded that Police will continue to closely monitor traffic in this area and drivers detected exceeding speed limits can expect to be penalised. Speed is a major contributing factor to fatal and serious accidents and Police will continue seek out those who have such disregard for the law and safety of other road users.

About 5:20pm on Sunday the 12th October 2014, police were at the Gateway Service Station on Sydney Road, Goulburn when they had cause to search a Black Subaru Outback parked within the service station. Police spoke with the 50 year old male driver from the Port Kembla area. Shortly afterwards Police located a quantity of cannabis in the centre console of the vehicle. The male was not eligible for a cannabis caution and was subsequently issued with Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence of Possess Prohibited Drug to appear at Goulburn Local Court on 29th October 2014.

About 2030 on Sunday the 12th of October 2014 a 29 year old male from Goulburn was in view and hearing of a public place being the Gateway Service Station Carpark. The male person was seen and heard yelling at staff and swearing. The males actions and language could be clearly seen and heard by several patrons within the centre and forecourt. The males’ behaviour continued whilst outside the centre. Police attended a short time later and spoke with staff and the male in question. As a result the male is now prohibited from returning to that business. Everyone is reminded of the right business houses have to prohibit a person from frequenting their premises if the behaviour warrants.

About 2am on Sunday the 12th of October Police had cause to speak to a 27 year old local male outside a local nightspot in Goldsmith Street Goulburn. Due to the males level of intoxication and behaviour the male was directed to leave the vicinity of the licences premises. The male failed to comply with the lawful directions of Police and continued with offensive behaviour directed towards Police. As a result the male was arrested, conveyed to Goulburn Police Station and issued with two Infringement Notices for excluded person remain in vicinity and offensive behaviour. A reminder to everyone out for a night, if Police direct anyone to leave an area and that direction is not complied with Police will arrest and prosecute those offenders.

On Sunday the 12th October 2014 Highway Patrol Police conducted speed enforcements along the Federal Highway Collector. Within a time frame of approximately one and a half hours at least a dozen drivers were detected speeding and issued infringements for the offences. Drivers are reminded that Police will continue to closely monitor traffic in this area and drivers detected exceeding speed limits can expect to be penalised. Speed is a major contributing factor to fatal and serious accidents and Police will continue seek out those who have such disregard for the law and safety of other road users.

Around 7.00pm on the 12/10/2014 a 23 year old female was the driver of a vehicle travelling south on the Oberon Taralga Road, Richlands. Around 2km south of Wombeyan Caves Road the driver has had an encounter with a bee in the cabin of the vehicle. The driver has waved the bee away from in front of her and in the process, has travelled from the road onto the loose dirt shoulder. The driver has steered back to the road however; the vehicle has started to slide sideways. Attempts to correct the slide were unsuccessful and the vehicle has slid across the road onto the opposite grassed shoulder before colliding with a paddock fence. The driver was not injured however the vehicle had sustained moderate damage and required towing. Witnesses stopped and offered assistance with police being notified.
