The males, aged 26 and 35, were sentenced in Goulburn District Court on November 13.
Each pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.
The charges followed the sexual assault of a young teenage girl on the banks of the Wollondilly River, behind the Police Academy, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 15 this year.
They have been in custody since their arrest.
Judge Hanley sentenced the 26-year-old Goulburn man to two years’ prison with a nonparole period of one year for the sexual assault charge. He was also handed a nine-month sentence, to be served concurrently, for indecent assault. Taking into account time already served, he will be eligible for release on January 5, 2015.
The 35-year-old, also from Goulburn, was sentenced to three years’ prison, with a non-parole period of 18 months on one set of charges. The judge also handed down a four-year sentence (non-parole two years) on other counts and a 12- month, non-parole period of two months on a separate charge of indecent exposure in a public place. The terms are to be served concurrently.
With time already spent in jail, he will be eligible for release on January 15, 2016. The court maintained suppression orders on both men’s name. In September, Goulburn Local Court dismissed two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16 levelled against an 18-year-old.
The local youth spent six weeks in prison before being granted bail earlier in the year. He also cannot be named for legal reasons.
