Cootamundra Local Court imposed a suppression order on the 74-year-old man’s name on Monday.
Police charged the Cootamundra man with nine counts of indecent assault of a male and one count of act of indecency on Monday, November 10.
Police alleged the offences were committed against five boys at a Manly school and St Patrick’s College, Goulburn, between 1973 and 1976.
During a search of the man’s home at 9am on the day of his arrest, officers seized documents and computers.
At his first brief appearance in court on Monday, the matter was adjourned to the Downing Centre on December 17 for plea or mention.
He was granted conditional bail. Police had also granted him bail following his arrest and charge.
Another Christian brother, William Peter Standen, 65, is facing 29 charges of indecently assaulting males at St Patrick’s College between 1978 and 1981.
He is also on conditional bail and is due to re-appear in Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday, December 10.
