As of Friday, the Metro service station on Clinton St remained the cheapest in the City, offering E10 unleaded at 99.9c a litre, and unleaded for 106.9c a litre.
Thanks to an evening promotional campaign, customers who purchase fuel from the retailer after 7:45pm receive a further 10c per litre discount.
Metro Fuels spokesman Rich Apurv-Sharma said that motorists are starting to take advantage of the low prices.
“Yesterday (Thursday) was the first day we got more customers coming in to fill up,” he said.
“It’s been really good. One of my staff also started a Facebook campaign outlining the cheaper price and our special 10c deal… The Facebook campaign looks to have been a great success and we are getting a lot of new customers from this.”
Merino Fuels in Bourke St have also brought down prices for customers with E10 Unleaded offered at 106.9 c/l and Unleaded at 108.9.
“Many of our customers still come to us because they like the service we provide,” a spokesman from Merino Fuels told the Post.
“Also because of the holiday season the prices have come down to reflect the market and people generally seem more relaxed when they come in to fill up.”
The most expensive petrol in Goulburn was at Eric Brown Motors in Bradfordville which on Friday was offering unleaded petrol for 112.9 cents a litre, and premium at 125.9 c per litre.
