Miss Skinner’s experience with the show circuit before this was purely limited to her days as an equestrian show jumper.
This weekend, she’ll get a taste of much more.
“I am really excited for the Show and am personally really looking forward to the more traditional things that happen at the show, like the return to the sheep shearing this year which is pretty cool,” the city-girl turned country, told the Post.
“I always love those more old fashioned show events.”
Ask and thou shall receive. The Goulburn Plaza Show this year has something for everyone - with a throwback to traditional events such as the woodchop, tug-ofwar, ute show-and-shine, shearing and the like.
While Miss Skinner is keen to try her hand at just about everything, her roles for the day will involve the judging of the Junior Showgirl competition and handing out trophies and ribbons to the region’s best.
“I have been to Goulburn show as a competitor in the past,” she said.
“Show jumping in Goulburn is always quite good, so I’ve been in that capacity, although I haven’t been to the Goulburn Show myself as a younger child. It will be interesting.
“With competing you tend to have your schedule and it gets hard.
“I hope the weather holds out. I heard the forecast might not be that good for the weekend but I’m still really looking forward to it. “It will be good when everything finally comes to fruition, I’m sure the Show Society will be relieved.”
