SOUTHERN Tablelands region State Emergency Service crews reached out to their northern cousins in Sydney and the Hunter Valley on Tuesday.

The SES in both Sydney and the Hunter received more than 4,500 calls for assistance on Tuesday, especially around the Upper Hunter Valley township of Dungog, which bore the brunt of the wild weather, with up to 300 mm of rain falling over a 24 hour period and 135 km/h winds.
It also claimed the lives of an elderly woman and two elderly men and managed to remove four homes from their footings. .
Four homes were also washed away.
Southern Tablelands Deputy Region Controller Joanne Humphries told the Post that crews were called out to only six jobs around the Yass, Queanbeyan and Crookwell areas. There were none reported in Goulburn.
Showers are forecast for today with a top of 15 degrees, and a possible shower with a top of 19 degrees is forecast for tomorrow.
Friday will also see a possible shower and a top of 18 degrees. A possible shower is also forecast for Anzac Day, with a top of 14 degrees.
