Zac Purton returned home to Brisbane a winner on Strawberry Boy in the Lord Mayors Cup on Saturday with a little help from his father-in-law, Jim Cassidy. The John Singleton-owned Strawberry Boy made a one-act affair of the group 3 mile with a rolling front running performance. "I had a chat to Jimmy about him yesterday and he gave me a good insight ino him," Purton said. "Chris [Waller] confirmed that here and I rode him accordingly. He was ready for that and it was a good win." Cassidy, the regular rider for Singleton, won't be getting any more than a bit of credit from Purton. "He doesn't need a sling," Purton said.
