With the racing action kicking off at 12.44 pm, the seven race card will ensure competitive and exciting racing.
Local trainers will have their work cut out with the visiting contingent looking very strong.
One local with a strong chance is the David Hewitt trained Ellmer Hanover who will contest the $5,100 Hollingworth Cranes Pace at 2.29pm.
Scheduled as race four over the 2240 metre distance, Ellmer Hanover will be facing the starter for the first time since his unplaced run in the Goulburn Cup on Australia Day.
Ellmer Hanover has raced against the top level in his three Australian starts and will find today’s race a much easier assignment.
The 6 year old Armbro Operative gelding has drawn barrier six and has been steadied for today’s race by a couple of recent trials at Goulburn including an easy win a week ago.
Hardest to beat in the small seven horse field include the Amy Day trained Ponderena who comes out of gate one and the Wagga Wagga visitor G K Galleon, who was a strong winner at Goulburn’s last meeting.
We encourage all harness racing fans to come out for a great afternoon of competitive and interesting racing, and to experience the wonderful facilities of the Grace Millson Function Centre.
Enjoy quality food and a wide range of cold alcoholic and soft drinks whilst watching all the racing action in comfort.
Form analysis and tips RACE 1: A two-year-olds race with seven runners; Redbank Lenny from the Kerry Ann Turner stable is a winner at this track but hasn’t raced since the Gold Crown carnival when he finished last in a consolation.
His previous form had been impressive including a win over Boobalaga Road and strong efforts behind star two-year-old Salty Robyn.
Hilly was a good second on debut at Canberra behind the impressive Regal Nighshade, his two runs since have been OK.
Bathurst visitors Art Mistress and Brighteyed from the Bernie Hewitt stable are race fit and well experienced.
Dancing With Miley won a trial at Goulburn recently in slow time.
The one gate will be advantageous at her first official race start.
TIPS: 7 Redbank Lenny, 4 Hilly, 5 Arts Mistress, 6 Brighteyed.
RACE 2: For three-year-olds and older with 10 runners; Nelbell gets her chance to break through for her first win following a solid last start second at Canberra behind Village Witch.
Trained at Laggan by Steven Lee, the mare’s has been close up in recent runs and from the 10 gate draw should be in a striking position.
Clementsorrell was formerly trained on the track and following three runs back from a spell should be close to his best.
Settle Gretel has been close up at its last two starts and though drawn on the outside is capable of figuring in the finish. Daisy Gone Crazy is resuming from a short let up and as the winner of two races has the ability to be in the finish.
Our Patsy has an outside chance; finish second here back in December at its only run on the track.
TIPS: 10 Nelbell, 9 Clementsorrell, 8 Settle Gretel, 6 Our Patsy.
RACE 3: C0 to C2 race with 10 runners; Alphitonia has been racing consistently around Bathurst and from the 2 draw should be well placed in the run.
Bungonia trainer Phil Willis has Lombo Yanky Invada racing very strongly and though draw on the second row will be charging home in the run home.
The Amy Day trained Cogeday was not beaten far first up when out of the place positions.
That was in a much stronger field and is likely to improve in this event.
Runs On Attitude raced strongly against Sporty Spook and will appreciate this class whilst Hannahs Freedom is an outside chance.
TIPS: 10 Lombo Yanky Invada, 9 Cogeday, 2 Aphitonia, 5 Runs On Attitude.
RACE 4: C3 to C6 race with seven runners; Former New Zealander Ellmer Hanover is first up but gets his chance to win his first race in Australia.

Ponderena finished second to Iron Outlaw at this track, then got too far back at Canberra before winning at Menangle.
From the one gate she will be hard to beat. American Highlights also raced well behind Iron Outlaw and last start finished second at Menangle behind Toolijooa Dawn.
G K Galleon won at this track two starts back and then was 5.9 metre fifth behind Mary Mon and Itcan Happen at Wagga, whilst Trikala has been racing strongly in the Bathurst region.
TIPS: 6 Ellmer Hanover, 1 Ponderena, 5 G K Galleon, 4 Trikala.
RACE 5: A three-year-olds race with 11 runners; Cobbit Cove struck trouble last start but before that had raced well enough in harder races than this.
Has drawn gate two and looks a strong chance lead throughout.
Kwazulu for David Hewitt has been racing consistently of late including a last start third at Young when beaten by two metres in a 1:58.0 mile rate.
Flying Pegasus has been thereabouts racing at Menangle. Has had two runs since a spell finishing fourth and fifth and looks likely to improve in this event.
Maybe Shes Perfect is another with consistent form and though drawn wide in gate eight appeals as a top five chance as does Pharrell who has drawn the inside of the second row.
Two starts back he was beaten 8.6 metres by the impressive Tullow and with a cosy run is quite capable of being in the finish.
TIPS: 2 Cobbity Cove, 4 Kwazulu, 9 Pharrell, 8 Maybe Shes Perfect.
RACE 6: C1 to C2 race 8 runners; former New Zealander Third Avenue improved on its first Australian start by scoring at Penrith last Thursday.
Draw in gate two, Third Avenue is likely to take up the lead again and will take holding out.
Temporary Use scored a strong win at Bathurst maintaining her good consistent form.
Lettucemacru performs strongly when leading or up near the front and this race looks ideal for him to take up a spot with the leaders.
The Sweetest Angel has raced well at Goulburn and is in good form winning twice in its last 5 starts.
Corilla Tess is another with good Goulburn form winning four of its seven starts here.
Has drawn wide which is not going to help her chances.
TIPS: 2 Third Avenue, 3 Temporary Use, 5 Lettucemacru, 6 The Sweetest Angel.
RACE 7: C0 to C1 race with 10 runners; Village Witch followed up a good second at Young with an impressive and easy win at Canberra; has drawn gate 3 which allows the mare the option of leading.
Uncle Jay was a winner at Canberra during March and from gate two will be hard to beat following his 7th at Canberra after a short let up.
Whos Driving is a lightly race three-year-old who was a winner at Goulburn’s last meeting.
Followed that with a couple sixth placings at Bathurst and Menangle and is good enough to be considered a top three chance.
Perfect Trouble is a consistent Canberra performer who from gate 10 can be expected to race strongly.
Bettermore has drawn the inside of the second row and will be very hard to beat. Has not been beaten far in fast times at Menangle and last start was retired after getting a flat tyre.
TIPS: 9 Bettermore, 3 Village Witch, 5 Whos Driving, 2 Uncle Jay.
