Justin has a rare genetic disorder called CDKL5, which means he suffers from a range of disabilities including autism, muscular dystrophy and uncontrollable multiple seizures. 

He is also tube-fed and aspirated, often suffering from reflux and colic as well.

Due to his multiple illnesses Justin weighs 20kg and is currently only able to be transported in a specially modified pram by his parents Deearne and Stephen.

When they took him to be measured up for a new wheelchair, they were told that given the rarity of Justin’s condition, there was no funding available to assist him and that they would have to come up with the money for the chair, which costs $12,000, all on their own.

David Campbell, who works for Essential Personnel, is determined to help him with the funding, and will push Justin in a pram in the 14km fun-run in August.

But before then, locals will have a chance to take part in a fundraiser at Anytime Fitness, comprising burpees and treadmill running.

Teams of two will take part in a 20 minute workout, with burpee reps calculated.

Some 13 teams have already registered for the event, which begins at 9am. 

Entry fees are $50 a team ($25 per participant), with all money going to Justin’s GoFundme.

The GoFundMe account already has more than $5,000, but Anytime personal trainer Chris Cockburn and Campbell are hopeful that Saturday’s event will push the figure over $6,000.

A number of prizes have also been donated from Primal Supplements, Australian Sports Nutrition, Grit Cafe and Anytime Fitness.
