Police attached to the Target Action Group of The Hume LAC have made some significant breakthroughs into the investigation into the recent spate of break, enter and steal offences committed in Goulburn.

On June 28 2015, a school in Addison Street Goulburn was broken into. As a result of investigations, a 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were arrested and have subsequently been referred for legal process under the Young Offenders Act.
On July 3 2015 a school in Combermere Street Goulburn was broken into. As a result of investigations, a 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were arrested and have subsequently been referred for legal process under the Young Offenders Act.
On July 13 2015 a house in Cowper Street, Goulburn was broken into. As a result of investigations, a 14-year-old boy was charged and granted conditional bail.
On July 13 2015 a house in Montague Street, Goulburn was broken into. As a result of investigations, a 14-year-old boy was charged and granted conditional bail.
On July 17 2015 a house in Church Street, Goulburn was broken into. As a result of investigations a 14-year-old boy was charged and granted conditional bail. A second 14-year-old boy was arrested and has subsequently been referred for legal process under the Young Offenders Act.
Between July 17 and July 24 2015 a sporting oval in Goulburn was broken into on three separate occasions. Police have identified a number of young persons responsible for these offences.
As a result a 14-year-old boy was charged and granted conditional bail. Three further 13-year-old boys were arrested and have subsequently been referred for legal process under the Young Offenders Act.
Detective Inspector Chad Gillies, Crime Manager for The Hume LAC has praised police for their investigations.
“These results are testament to the hard work of police attached to our Target Action Group," Det. Insp. Gillies said.
"They were tasked with investigating this spate of offences and have achieved some significant results. I hope this goes some-way towards reassuring the community that the local police are committed to preventing and following up any crime in our area.
"Whilst a number of young persons have been identified, our investigations are ongoing for other unsolved and similar offences in the Goulburn area.”
