A woman, who police will allege is closely associated with the ‘Brothers For Life’ gang, has been arrested for alleged drug importation and smuggling prohibited substances into two NSW prisons.

Earlier this year, as part of their ongoing inquiries into the ‘Brothers For Life’ gang, the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS) became aware of a Central Coast woman who was allegedly smuggling steroids and cannabis into correctional complexes at Malabar and Goulburn.
The substances were allegedly smuggled into the prisons for use by ‘Brothers For Life’ members.
Shortly before 8am Thursday, August 27, MEOCS detectives and officers from the Australian Border Force attended a property in Terrigal, where they seized a quantity of steroids and a small amount of crystal methylamphetamine (‘Ice’).
A 27-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Gosford Police Station where she is in the process of being charged with a range of offences including:
- Importing tier 1 goods;
- Suppling small quantities of prohibited drugs;
- Delivering items to inmates without authority; and,
- Participating in a criminal group.
In court, police will allege the woman was directly involved in importing steroids into Australia from Asia, as well as smuggling steroids and cannabis into correctional complexes.
Since late 2013, NSW Police have arrested 23 members and/or associates of the ‘Brothers For Life’ gang who have been charged with a collective total of more than 350 offences.
