“The young people don’t have enough to do in this town” is something we’ve long heard.
But, “the elderly are forgotten” is a new one.
In Council on Tuesday night, Cr O’Neill was quite outspoken against allocating extra funding toward youth services. As it turns out, senior services get a thicker slice of the pie.
Perhaps Cr O’Neill should have a closer look at what’s in front of her.
Instead of looking at it through an age divide, why not take it for what it is… $386,000 filtered back into the community through grassroots programs and support services (not including the extra $100,000 yet to be approved).
