Investigators will allege a 24-year-old man attended a home in Goulburn on Saturday October 10, and threatened a 22-year-old man and his 20-year-old girlfriend.
It will also be alleged he had earlier sent threatening text messages to the other man. The alleged social media posts were not threats directed towards any specific person or location.
About 4.40pm Tuesday October 13, the 24-year-old man was arrested by police from Redfern Local Area Command.
He was taken to Redfern Police Station and spoken to by officers from the Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) about threatening posts on social media.
These posts have since been removed.
He was later charged with use carriage service to threaten to kill, intimidation to cause fear of physical or mental harm, and use carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
He has been refused bail and was due to appear at Central Local Court on Wednesday 14.
Inquiries are continuing.
