Co-ordinator of Goulburn Historic Waterworks and its Steampunk and Victoriana Fair, Julie Salway picked up the idea while visiting the Kew Bridge Steam Museum in London when it had a Steampunk theme, three years ago.
“The idea is that steam technology was best and we never went to electricity,” Ms Salway said.
“It’s an artistic movement in literature, craft and performance.”
She said last year’s inaugural event was a great success.
“People came from all over the State for it and this year we are hoping for a crowd of about 500 to turn up,” she said.
“The event will feature purveyors and peddlers hawking everything from dollhouses to model steam engines and crystals to novels.
There will be tea and parasol duels, Victorian dance, Penny Farthing bicycles, live music as well as a steam-themed art workshop.
“Come to the waterworks this Sunday and see something really different and fun.”
