I WOULD doubt very much whether or not anyone in the outlying rural areas really care about amalgamations or not as we have got nothing at all from this current Council except ( and only if we are lucky) our road gets graded once or twice a year.

When Mulwaree was a stand alone council Paul Stephenson (then Mayor) promised us he would see that Lumley Rd would be tarred at a rate of one to two kilometres per year, and he was doing it.
But since amalgamation we get jack s...t.Yet there is always plenty of money being spent by the current council in Goulburn, our money that we pay with our rates.
At least John Shaw of Upper Lachlan tries, like Stephenson did, to give his out of town ratepayers a bit of tar on their roads.
Our bloody road is a disgrace. When the big gravel trucks from the Ardmore Park Quarry are on it, you are in trouble if you meet one as there are blind corners and most are only wide enough for the truck. When you do pass, you have to stop because you cannot see a thing for the dust.
So you see I don’t think amalgamation will worry too many people out here as you can’t get any less than nothing. Although Denzil might lose out if the Post’s report on his road repairs are true and correct.
