Given the play is built to entertain young families, we thought, ‘Hey, let’s try something new’, and new this is.
Meet 11-year-old STELLA GOPPERT-COLE, our special guest reviewer for Oink.
Omg, Oink!
OINK The Three Pigs, First, Second and Third, nope not naming race places here, people!
When First, Second and Third set off into the big wide world, they encounter many a friend, meeting Incy Wincy Spider, Little Red Riding Hood, Old MacDonald, Little Miss Muffet and many more.
The friends discover the true meaning of friendship! Even in the most both weird and hilarious ways! My favourite characters were the dumb and funny King’s Men and how they were always making me laugh. The truth is, I fell in love with all the characters big and small.

I love the play on words, as they crack 'wood' and 'would' puns.
And it’s not just that, as the effort that’s gone into making the settings and scenes is wonderful - such as the big slippery dip, and they had all these things that they could take off the walls to set the building scene.
I think that the scenes blend into one another really well and me and Dad reckoned that they didn’t even really need an interval as the actors and actresses were pulling it off, or should I say “winging it’’ extremely well.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the costumes man coz (sic) they were just fabulous, even right down to their itty bitty tails on the pigs, as well as the mice’s tails.
Also, the Big Merino made me laugh when it showed up and gave Third some inspiration for his house materials.
Also, another one of my favourite moments was when Tracey the Big Bad Wolf would eat something and we next saw them inside her tummy. I also enjoyed watching them take selfies and shuddered at the times of very gross happenings.
For instance, if you are squeamish look away when Tracey vomits them all back up.
I enjoyed watching them take selfies and the burst into song!
In conclusion, this is an amazing family outing that the whole family is absolutely sure to enjoy!
I even think that it is now going to be my very favourite kids play ever, and if I enjoyed it so much, I’m sure that you will too! So now I strongly recommend you going out there right now and buying a ticket!
And I would also like to acknowledge the behind the scenes effort including Chrisjohn Hancock, the awesome director and the beautifully written script by Jennifer Lamb - congratulations on your well-written success.

A word from Dad (David Cole)
OINK is a funny play that adults will definitely enjoy too.
The play is chaotic in parts and has elements of Monty Python type humour, especially with the bumbling King’s Men (Blake Selmes and Ethan Betts) who can't seem to put anything back together again.
Spot the nursery rhyme characters as they make appearances.
I especially enjoyed the shadow puppets that simulated the ingestion of just about every character on stage - and their explosive return.
I can’t single out any actors because they were all great and the costumes were spot on.
Oink The Three Pigs continues at the Lieder Theatre on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, until December 12.
