A NSW Rural Fire Service volunteer noticed the smoke on the property, 8km south of Grabben Gullen near Crookwell at about 1pm.
Four RFS tankers and a NSW Fire and Rescue unit from Crookwell responded.
RFS zone operations manager Pater Alley said the fire had destroyed a garage-like shed and there was no confirmation of initial reports it had engulfed a house.
Crews from Grabben Gullen, Crookwell, Bannister and Merrill extinguished the blaze. One structore on the property was described as unsafe and might fall down at any moment.
