Goulburn Mulwaree Council teamed up with the charity organisation to provide a solution for the donation system.
Traffic issues were ongoing in Ellesmere St, with people parking illegally to donate to the bins, a statement issued by Council said.
To ensure the transition is painless and to allow people to continue donating generously, the main large green bins have been moved to Sloane Street, at the back of the Old Woolstore building.
This will ensure that the main donation source for Mission Australia will be able to continue as normal.
Mission Australia will also be placing purple 240L bins in the rear of the Civic Centre on a trial basis for council staff to place donations in.
"The move should be painless, and will allow residents to continue to support Mission Australia," Goulburn Mulwaree Council Waste and Recycling business manager Teena Riley said.
"We have worked hard to ensure that a workable solution is put in place, as we understand the bins have been in the same location in Ellesmere Street for a number of years.”
The bin move occurred on Monday.
