LAST Thursday we 86 players contested an open single stableford in ideal weather conditions. Daryl Marr ran out the winner with a fine 44 points off his old handicap of 18.
Second place went to Tom Antony off five with 42 points on a countback from Jason Apps who was off 11.
Richard Hammond was fourth with 40 on a countback, he played off 17 and Kevin Collins off 10 also had 42 points.
Players needed 35 points on a countback to win a ball, with Allan Walcott getting the last.
The Merino Fuels nearest the pin on the eighth went to Peter Nightingale at just half a centimetre from the hole.
The Kumho Tyres 11th with 35cm was won by Dominic Falk and Norm Woodward picked up the Murrays Meats 15th with 219cm.
With great weather on Saturday, one would expect to have a good sized field, and 99 players hit off for the February monthly medal stroke event.
One of the earlier starters, Allan Hedges took out the monthly medal with 65 nett off a handicap of 21.
The A grade nett went to Shane McColl off four with a nett 69.
The prize in B Grade went to Shaun Haynes with 68 off 20 and C Grade to Johno McMath with 66 nett off 24.
Jake Mitchell off scratch had a round of one over, 71, to take out the A grade stroke, B Grade went to Paul Falk with 85 off 15 and C Grade to a visitor from Cowra, Anthony Yeo off 26 with 94 off the stick.
To get a ball players needed 75 on a count back with the only player on 75 to get a ball Peter White.
The Merino Fuels nearest the pin on the 8th went to Rob Fryer at 172 centimetre. The Kumho Tyres 11th with 38cm was won by the lefty Scott Nolan and the evergreen Ross Croker picked up the Murrays Meats 15th with 223cm.

Railway Social Golf Club
THE soon to be bionic man Darryl Clarkson won last week's single stroke event with 64 nett. Will see you back on the greens shortly Daz.
David Pollard claimed runner up on countback from Chris Antony both carding 65.
Geoff Stearman scored 68, Greg Croker and John Smith 69, Peter Pidoux, Ted Bayliss, Paul Murphy and Chris Grant 71, Ian Shuttle, Bruce Harvey, Norm Woodward and Geoff Loader 72. Mal Young, Ray Wilkinson, Steve Keys and Mick Burgess all returned 73 with the last ball to the recently returned Bill Skelly 74. Great to see you back on track Bill.
Belated apologies and congratulations to members Phil Malone and Mick Burgess for their magnificent rounds last week of 45 stableford points and plus nine respectively.

Tully Park Golf Club
IN his best form for months, Gary Spence won the Gordon Hotel stableford with 42 points. Ball winners were T Clewitt, R Lieschke and C Eggins on a countback.
The three mystery holes were won by president Shane Cooper with eight points on a countback from Gary Spence.
Nearest the pin winners were S Cooper on the Goulburn Produce and Rural Supplies fifth hole, D Grimson on the seventh and J Smith on the Goulburn Workers Club sponsored eighth.
Twelve holes
The winner of the Goulburn Soldiers Club weekly 12 hole competition was Phil Elliott with 26 points.
Ball winners were G Cave 25, Roy McNair 23, Bryan Plumb 22, Mick Grey 22 and Don Grimston 21 on a countback. Mick Hyland won the special ball with 12 points.
Par 3 competition
Rheannah Webb continued her development, winning the adult competition with a nett 21.
Nathan Chandler did extremely well to win the juniors with a nett 19.
Next week
February 14 is an American Foursomes competition.
We host the Pennant competition on the following week, February 21, so please tee off by 7.45am.
We purchased two nearly new Greens mowers this week and it is already showing its effects on the greens.
Thanks to all the volunteers who continue to raise the standards of the course.
Tully Park Juniors
THE Tully Park juniors of Trent Cooper, Rheannah Webb and Jon Gegg have been more than holding their own in the Canberra junior pennants season having helped their Gold Creek/Tully Park team to two wins and a draw over recent weeks to have the team in good position half way through the rounds.
Leading by example as captain, Trent has managed to continue his good form from two years ago still remaining undefeated against some very strong Canberra juniors with wins of four and three, four and three, and one up in the matchplay event.
Rheannah has continued her good recent form at Tully in her two matches squaring last week on the 18th in a high pressure finish to give the team a win and winning this week six and five.
Jon Gegg's first game of the season in round one saw him resume his form of two years ago to finish up three and two as he returns to the team this week hoping to cement his form.
The monthly Par three event at Tully, (great for juniors, newcomers to golf, and those wanting to sharpen their skills), has seen the juniors coming through in a big way with the competition between some of the girls starting to heat up.
With junior coaching returning to Tully this Saturday morning at 8.30 we'll be on the lookout for the next crop of juniors with potential to further challenge our pennants players.
Tully Park Early Birds Ladies
MONDAY, February 8, the ladies played an 18 holes multiplier stableford and nearest the pin.
The winners were Debbie Collins and Ruth Beveridge 47 points.
Nearest the pin was won by Ratna Rankmore.
The ball run down went to 39 points.
Next week February 15 is 18 holes two person ambrose (if enough players) and nearest the pin. Duty person is Georgina Cook and tee time is 8.45am for 9am start.
Our Friendship Day is on March 14 and is a 2 person ambrose so please organise a visitor for a partner. They do not have to be a member or have a handicap. This is a social day of friendship.
Our Open Day is on April 4, so please make a note of that in your diary.
We had a good number of players for the Par 3 event on Saturday. It is becoming very popular. Non members and juniors are able to play so please keep the next one on the first Saturday in March in mind and come and play. Fee is $7. Tee open between 9am to 3pm.
Goulburn Workers Golf Club
SUNDAY, February 7 was the monthly medal and first round championships.
The winner was Jason Apps with 68 on a countback, runner up was Gary Apps also 68 on a countback for the trophy donated by the Goulburn Workers Club.
In the ball rundown: Darryl Robertson 70, Brian Larkin 70, Bryan Dell 71, Ray Miller 72, Darrell Giddings 74, Terry Riley 73, Brenton Wellington 76, Adrian Hazelton 77, Tom Hazelton 78, Gary Privett 78, Greg Robertson 81, Craig Brown 81, Simon Grant 81, Ben Rice 84, Ray Grant 72 and Terry Druett 82 picked up a pill.
Gary Apps won the putting competition with 28.
Nearest the pin on the eighth went to Brenton Wellington. Jason Apps apps was closest at the 15th.
Drive and chip on the fourth went to Bryan Dell.
Bluey Taylor was Sunday’s Bradman.
Next week’s competition is a stroke second round championships.

SUNDAY, February 7 was the monthly medal and putting competition.
The winner was Tommy Heath 68.
Winner putting competition (mm only) went to Phillip Toole with 24.
Trophy and ball competition prizes were donated by the Goulburn Soldiers Club.

Nearest the pin on the first wast Justin Bramble, Ian Toole claimed the fourth, Gavin Raveney took the eighth, Glen Swanson was closest on the ninth, Chris Baxter drew nearest the 11th, Craig Langby took the 13th, Peter Gurr was closest to 15 and Justin Bramble picked up his second NTP on the 17th.
