THE next two weeks will very busy for our juniors with plenty happening in and around Goulburn. The GDJCA under 11 representative team will play their first of two matches against the Highlands at Carr Confoy on Sunday.

The return leg to be held in Bowral on Sunday, February 21.
For many of these kids it will be their first taste of representative cricket, the plan being to develop them for future teams competing in the Southern Zone Championships.
Also on February 21, the annual Luke Bush Shield will take place in Queanbeyan.
The GDJCA will be sending an under 13 and under 15 team to defend the Shield which they won last year.
This is always an eagerly anticipated event with each age group playing a T20 match split by a magnificent barbecue lunch.
Next Wednesday, the Sydney Thunder will be stopping by at Carr Confoy with both the men’s and women’s Big Bash trophies in hand.
We are hoping to get as many of our juniors there as possible with some activities planned for the visit.
Under 12
Wollondilly Yellow 4/99 def Crookwell White 9/55
WOLLONDILLY made the trek to Crookwell for their first match back since the Christmas break.
Both teams were really looking forward to getting back to cricket.
The home team won the toss and asked the visitors to have a bat, backing themselves to chase whatever total Wollondilly could post.
At the close of the Wollondilly innings the boys had posted a respectable 99 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Abdul Raheem led the way, retiring on 21 and he was well supported by Logan Watts who made an unbeaten 10 and Chris Marks remained not out at the end with a very tidy eight runs.
In reply, Crookwell were bowled out for 55 due to some tight bowling by Wollondilly.
Bill Wong returned match best figures of two wickets for the concession of two runs off his two overs.
Abdul Kareem took two wickets for 30 runs, Isaac Mills took two for four runs to be the three leading wicket takers.
Wickets also fell to Lachlan Greig, Chris Marks and Leigh Chalker, completed an excellent bowling display.
The game was also highlighted by some outstanding fielding. Leigh Chalker bagged three catches behind the stumps and Archie Wearne took a good catch and cut off many runs at cover.
Ryan Scheuner and Max Murray were fantastic in the outfield keeping the scoring to a minimum and the Abdul brothers, Kareem and Raheem, combined for a sharp run out.
Under 16
Trinity Catholic College 6/54 v Wollondilly 130 (Day 1 of 2)
THE Trinity U16 boys played an exciting first day against Wollondilly, in their two day game, setting up a cliff-hanger for Saturday.
Trinity are chasing 130 runs and currently are six wickets down for 54.
In the bowling for Trinity, the best bowler was Eric Brown, who finished with three wickets also responsible for breaking the partnership for Wollondilly.
He was well supported by impressive bowling from Liam Mullins and Josh Paterson who picked up two impressive wickets each.
Will Branson picked up a worthy wicket with his good length delivery and the boys were excited for Angus Fife picking up a well deserved wicket.
There were also some superb deliveries from Tommy Bell, Lachlan Minehan, Jake Paterson, Max Flack and Josh Hannan.
The catch of the year went to Eric Brown with a diving low outfield catch to rival any in the Big Bash.
Eric also took a great catch off his own bowling.
Tom Croker was great behind the stumps again with a great catch and stumping.
Accolades in the Wollondilly batting went to Josh Wearne with his impressive 52 and Lachlan Yeadon 15 runs putting on a 53 run stand.
Lewis Golding batted well for his 12 runs.
Will Stephenson made a quick 12 and Jonty Hunt played good shots to remain 12 not out. Wollondilly bowling was superb, with openers Ben Brown claiming one wicket for 21 runs and Isaac Hogan bowling holding the batsmen to nine runs.
They were backed up well by Lewis with two wickets for nine runs, Jonty two wickets for seven runs and Dean Whitelaw one wicket for eight.
Good catches were taken by Isaac, Ben and Jonty. Angus Elder and Joseph Tabell backed up their bowlers well in the field.
When it was Trinity’s turn to bat the openers Tom and Lachlan got off to a positive start with a 32 run partnership with Tom scoring a quick 20.
Lachlan batted out superbly playing well placed shots for a patient six runs in the 13 overs.
The Wollondilly bowlers then got on top picking up four wickets in five overs.
Max and Will are the not-out batsmen with Liam, Danyon and Josh Hannan left to come to chase down the 76 runs. We look forward to a great finish.
