Clinton William Chandler, 26, of Mundy St, Goulburn, returned to Goulburn Local Court on April 20 in relation to a guilty plea for high-range drink-driving.

Police facts tenderred to the court said on December 24, 2014 at 11.44pm, a patrol saw a Holden Rodeo turn west into Goldsmith St from Auburn St and accelerate harshly.

Light rain was falling at the time and, because it was Christmas Eve, there was a moderate level of other vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

Police stopped the vehicle near Bourke St and spoke to Chandler, who was driving, and gave him a roadside breath test, which indicated a positive reading.

Chandler was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where further testing returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.161.

Chandler came before Goulburn Local Court in May 2015, where he pleaded guilty to high-range drink-driving and was sentenced to 250 hours of community service.

Returning to court on April 20, Chandler's solicitor said his client would do what was required to stay out of jail.

"He tells me he will attend corrections and do everything required of as part of his supervision," his solicitor said.

Magistrate Geraldine Beattie said Chandler had been "blase" about performing community service.

"You came before the court in May last year and you were sentenced to 250 hours of community service as an alternative to jail," Ms Beattie said.

"You have been blase about this.

"You had a commitment to completing this community service, so it seems like you are making a choice that you would rather go to jail."

Ms Beattie revoked the community service order and placed Chandler on a suspended sentence under the supervision of Community Corrections.

"I have written 'full-time jail' on these court papers if you do not comply," Ms Beattie said.
