In the opening game of their season they ran all over the visitors at the Workers Arena, claiming a 52-12 win and even loaned three players to the opposition and reshuffled their lineup to even up the game.
The Goulburn girls proved a bit of a shock to the competition newcomers even with a large number of players in the Stockmen’s side who had not previously played rugby league.
The hard tackling by Goulburn’s players took its toll on the Yass girls.
Goulburn’s coach Henare Rakete said he was glad to see Yass enter the girls competition and he hoped that the newcomers would be encouraged to keep up their training and continue to improve as the competition progresses.
In the GWC Bulldogs Canberra Raiders Cup round four First Grade game Queanbeyan Kangaroos 32 defeated Goulburn 0 in Queanbeyan. In Reserve Grade Queanbeyan Kangaroos 42 defeated Goulburn 12 and in Under 18s the Roos defeated Goulburn 28-0.
In Canberra Raiders Cup Ladies League Tag Tuggeranong Bushrangers defeated Yass Girlpies 24 -14.
In the George Tooke Shield Gunning defeated ADFA 22 to 10 and Crookwell Green Devils defeated Boomanulla 28 - 18.
Braidwood went down to the Harden Hawks 38-4.
The tables were turned in the George Tooke Ladies League Tag, with ADFA defeating Gunning 10 -4 and Boomanulla defeating Crookwell 24 -18.
